📣Simple Standings vs TeamSnap

TeamSnap runs a team: RSVPs, chat, payments, an app. Simple Standings publishes a league’s table on a public link. Where each one wins, what each costs, and how to use both.

The short answer

  • Pick TeamSnap to run a team: availability and RSVPs, messaging, assignments, payments and a phone app. Simple Standings does none of that.
  • Pick Simple Standings to publish a league table. TeamSnap’s team plans show a win-loss record inside the app, not a league standings table, and have had no public team page since 2017.
  • League standings on TeamSnap live in the Website Builder Division module, for TeamSnap for Business and Clubs & Leagues, which are priced by quote.
  • You can use both: each team on TeamSnap, one Simple Standings link for the league.

A team app and a league table are different jobs

TeamSnap is built around one team: who is coming on Saturday, who brings snacks, the group chat, collecting fees. It does that well and it has a real app. One plan covers one team, and the prices on its team page are per team.

A league’s standings sit above any one team. On TeamSnap that table comes from the Website Builder’s Division module, available on TeamSnap for Business and Clubs & Leagues, where pricing is a custom quote. Its help centre says the module is not yet enabled on TeamSnap ONE, its newest club product.

Simple Standings is only that league-level page: standings, a schedule and player stats on one link that anyone can open without an account or an app.

Using both

Nothing about TeamSnap stops you publishing the league table elsewhere. Keep each team on TeamSnap, put the league’s standings on Simple Standings, and paste the link into each team’s TeamSnap messages. If you want the schedule on the same page, TeamSnap exports a team schedule as a text file you can open in a spreadsheet and import.

Who should pick TeamSnap

  • Coaches and managers who need RSVPs, availability and team chat.
  • Teams collecting fees from parents or players.
  • Anyone who wants a native phone app with notifications.
  • Clubs that want registration, websites and standings under one contract (TeamSnap for Business or Clubs & Leagues).

Where Simple Standings falls short

  • No RSVPs, availability, messaging or assignments.
  • No payments or registration.
  • No native app or push notifications.
  • Ads on the public page unless you pay the $9.99 once.
