Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. When you use Simple Standings, we store the standings and schedule data you enter. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance.

When you send us a message — the feedback box, a feature request, or the contact form — we store the message along with the name and email address you give us, so we can reply and keep track of what has been asked for. You do not need an account to send one. If we later write about something you asked for on our Recently shipped page, we never publish your name, your email address, or anything that identifies you unless you have told us we may.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide the Simple Standings service, authenticate your account, and communicate with you about your account (such as password resets). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Public share pages

When you create standings and set them to public, anyone with the share link can view that content. You control whether your standings are public or private. Do not include sensitive personal information in public standings.

We count how many times each public share page is loaded, so the page owner can see whether their link is being used. Those counts are anonymous: we do not store IP addresses, device information, or any other visitor details alongside them. Viewers do not need an account and we do not create one for them.

Advertising on public pages

Simple Standings is free because public share pages carry advertising. We use Google AdSense to serve those ads. Google and its partners are third parties, and unlike our own view counting above, they do use cookies and similar device identifiers to serve, measure, and in some regions personalise the ads you see. They may also use information about your visits to this and other websites for that purpose. This is separate from anything we collect, and we do not receive the data they gather.

You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads. Where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set, and you can change that choice at any time.

A league organizer may pay a one-time fee to remove advertising from their league's pages. On those pages no ad code is loaded at all, so no advertising cookie is set and no request is made to an ad network. Pages inside your account — the dashboard and the editor — never carry advertising.

Data retention

We retain your account and standings data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your standings at any time from your dashboard. Messages you send us are kept so we can follow up on them. Contact us to request account deletion, or to have a message you sent us deleted.
