FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Simple Standings really free?
Yes, all of it. Unlimited leagues, unlimited teams and games, standings, schedules, statistics, computed columns, custom colours and fonts, your league’s logo, custom pages, score reporting, CSV export, and a public share page with a QR code. No credit card, no trial clock, no game caps, and no feature held back.
So how do you make money?
Ads on the public share pages. When someone opens your league’s link, they may see an advert alongside your standings. That is what pays for the hosting and the development, and it is why nothing has to be locked behind a payment.
What does the $9.99 buy?
It takes the ads off one league’s public pages, permanently. That is the only thing it does — every feature is free with or without it. You pay $9.99 USD once for that league and there is nothing to renew or cancel.
Do I have to pay to share my league?
No. Every league gets a public page on a link anyone can open, free, with no account needed to view it. This used to be the paid part and it is not any more.
Does paying cover all my leagues?
No — $9.99 clears the ads from the one league you bought it for. If you run three leagues and want all three ad-free, that is three payments. Most people run one, and most people never pay at all, which is the intended outcome.
Do I pay again next season?
No. A league you have cleared stays cleared — carry the same one into next season, clear the results, and it is still ad-free on the same link.
Will this turn into a subscription?
No. There is no plan to be moved onto and no way for us to charge you again for a league you have already paid for. If the price changes for new leagues, the ones you have already bought are untouched.
What kind of ads are they?
Ordinary display advertising served by Google AdSense, in one or two clearly labelled slots below your tables. They never sit inside your standings, they are never full-screen, and they do not appear when you print the page.
Are there limits on teams, leagues, or games?
No artificial limits on the number of leagues you create, teams you add, or games you record — before or after you buy anything. There is no metered free tier here.
Do viewers need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can open your league and read it. No sign-up, no app, nothing to install.
Do you take feature requests?
Yes. Simple Standings is built by one person, so your request reaches me rather than a support queue — I read every one and reply. If it fits what Simple Standings is for, I build it. There is no promised turnaround, because I would rather not make a promise I cannot keep; what I can point at is the public Recently shipped page, which is the record of what has actually come of it.
What if I pay and change my mind?
Email us within 30 days and we will refund you, no questions asked. Your league and everything in it stays exactly where it is — the ads simply come back.
