ChatGPT and Claude
Run your league from ChatGPT or Claude
Connect Simple Standings to ChatGPT or Claude and tell it what happened. It sets up the season, records the scores and keeps the standings, schedule and statistics on your league page up to date — the same edits you would make in the editor.

What it does
Everything the editor does, by chat
The connector has a tool for every part of the league editor. Ask in your own words; the assistant picks the tools.
Set up a season
- Create a league from 53 sport presets, with the standings, statistics and box score columns filled in for your sport — or plain wins, losses and ties.
- Import teams, games and players from a spreadsheet, CSV or pasted list. The assistant reads the file and shows you a preview before anything is saved.
- Generate a round robin, single elimination or double elimination schedule, with a date for each round, a start time and a venue.
- Copy last season’s league to start the next one, with its tables, settings, look and pages.
Record results
- Report a final score: wins, losses, ties and runs or goals for and against update in the standings, and the score goes on the schedule.
- Correct a result and the old one comes out first, so nothing is counted twice.
- Add tonight’s numbers to running totals instead of retyping the totals.
- Rename a team or player once and it changes everywhere: standings, schedule, results and box scores.
Statistics and box scores
- Save a box score: the score by inning, period or set, team extras like hits and errors, and each player’s numbers.
- Count it and the standings and the statistics table update, new players get a row, and the game gets its own public page.
- Add calculated columns such as win %, points or goal and run differential, worked out from your other columns.
- Read the standings, schedule or statistics ranked your league’s way, or export any table as CSV.
Your league page
- Set the theme: a preset or your own colours for light and dark mode, and a font.
- Add your logo from an image link, and links to waivers, registration or your socials.
- Write custom pages for rules, contacts or fees, with text, links, images and tables.
- Turn the public page off and on again. Nothing is deleted while it is off.

How to connect
It takes a couple of minutes, once. You need a Simple Standings account; you can make one while you connect.
In ChatGPT
- 01Open Settings → Apps & Connectors. Under Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode.
- 02Choose Create to add a connector. Name it Simple Standings, paste the URL
https://simplestandings.com/mcpand pick OAuth for authentication. - 03A Simple Standings page opens. Sign in (or create an account) and press Allow.
- 04Start a chat and ask. If ChatGPT does not use it, pick Simple Standings from the + menu in the message box.
In Claude
- 01Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- 02Name it Simple Standings and paste the URL
https://simplestandings.com/mcp. - 03Press Connect. A Simple Standings page opens: sign in (or create an account) and press Allow.
- 04Start a chat and ask. Simple Standings is listed in the chat’s tools menu, where you can turn it on or off.
Simple Standings is not in the ChatGPT app directory yet, which is why ChatGPT needs Developer mode for now. A directory listing is on the way; this page will say when it is live.
Prompts to try
Things to ask
These are examples — use your own league, team and player names. The assistant finds your league by name, so you do not need any IDs.

- “Rename Foul Play to Foul Balls everywhere.”

- “Add a win % column to the standings.”
- “Export the statistics as a CSV.”
Your league page

Privacy and control
You stay in charge
- Only your leagues. The connector works on the leagues your own account owns. It cannot see or change anyone else’s.
- Sign-in happens on our page. You sign in on simplestandings.com; ChatGPT and Claude never see your password.
- No account changes, no purchases. It cannot change your account, email address or password, and it cannot pay for anything.
- It asks first. Deleting a league, removing teams, games or columns, clearing a score, importing, generating a schedule and turning your page on or off all show you exactly what will happen and wait for your yes.
- We don’t store your chats. The assistant receives the league data it asks for so it can answer you. What ChatGPT or Claude keeps is covered by their own privacy policy; ours is the Simple Standings privacy policy.
- Disconnect any time. Remove the connector in ChatGPT or Claude, or press Sign out everywhere on the connected apps page to cut off every connection at once.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a Simple Standings app for ChatGPT?
- Yes. Simple Standings works in ChatGPT as a connector: add https://simplestandings.com/mcp under Settings → Apps & Connectors (with Developer mode on) and sign in. It is not in the ChatGPT app directory yet; until it is, that is how you add it.
- Does it work with Claude?
- Yes. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, paste https://simplestandings.com/mcp and sign in when it asks. It has the same tools in Claude as in ChatGPT.
- What is the Simple Standings MCP server?
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the standard ChatGPT and Claude use to talk to other apps. https://simplestandings.com/mcp is Simple Standings’ MCP server: a set of tools for your leagues’ standings, schedules, scores, box scores, statistics and league page, behind an OAuth sign-in.
- Do I need a Simple Standings account?
- Yes, because the leagues it creates and edits belong to your account. If you don’t have one, you can create it on the sign-in page that opens when you connect. Everything the assistant does shows up in your dashboard and editor as usual.
- Can it read my spreadsheet?
- Yes. Share the file or paste the rows in the chat. The assistant reads it and sends the teams, games or players to Simple Standings, which shows a preview first; nothing is saved until you say yes.
- Will a corrected score be counted twice?
- No. When a game already has a result, a correction takes the old result out of the standings before adding the new one. The same goes for a box score you count again.
- Can it change someone else’s league?
- No. It only reaches leagues owned by the account you signed in with. A league you can only view through its share link is not available to it.
- How do I disconnect it?
- Remove the connector in ChatGPT or Claude. To cut off every connection at once, sign in to Simple Standings, go to /connect and press Sign out everywhere; that also signs you out on your other devices.
