Different products for different jobs
Jersey Watch is a website for a sports organization: pages, registration forms, payments, announcements, and a schedule and standings module. Its own pages describe it as built for volunteer-led youth organizations that need a website and registration, and for that it is fairly priced and helpful. Their team will even set the site up for you.
Simple Standings is one page: a standings table, a game schedule and a player stats table on a link anyone can open. There is no site to build, so there is nothing to set up beyond typing in your teams.
How standings work on each
On Jersey Watch, standings come from games created with the Schedule Generator. You generate the season, publish it, then add each result, and the division table updates (win percentage, then head-to-head, then differential). A schedule you enter by hand as a Basic Schedule does not get standings. If your league already has a fixture list from the venue, their help centre suggests a workaround or asks you to send it to their team.
On Simple Standings you type the table directly, or add one game at a time and let it count. Columns come prefilled for your sport, and you can add your own formula columns for tiebreakers like run differential or points per game.
Who should pick Jersey Watch
- Youth organizations that need a public website, online registration and payments in one place.
- Boards that want someone to set the site up for them.
- Leagues that want their own domain and no ads on any page.
- Organizers who want announcements to families in the same tool as the website.
Where Simple Standings falls short
- No website, no custom domain, no registration and no payments.
- No announcements or messaging to families.
- Ads on the public page unless you pay the $9.99; Jersey Watch shows none.
- Nobody sets it up for you. It is quick, but it is self-serve.
