The short answer

  • Jersey Watch is the organization’s website: pages, registration, payments and announcements, with a custom domain, for one published price. Its team sets it up for you.
  • TeamSnap is first a team app: RSVPs, chat, payments and iOS and Android apps, priced per team. Its club and league products are priced by quote.
  • Standings: Jersey Watch’s come from games built with its Schedule Generator; TeamSnap’s league standings live in the website builder of TeamSnap for Business and Clubs & Leagues (not yet on TeamSnap ONE).
  • Price you can see in advance: Jersey Watch publishes it; TeamSnap publishes team prices only.

Two different purchases

A youth board choosing between these is usually choosing what to buy first. Jersey Watch is the front door: a site parents find, a registration form, payments, and a schedule and standings module. TeamSnap is what each team uses through the season, and its website builder and league standings come with the club products rather than the team plans.

Jersey Watch’s own comparison page argues for Jersey Watch, as you would expect. We make Simple Standings, which competes with both in a small way, so this page quotes only what each company publishes about itself.

Where Simple Standings fits

If the board already has a website and registration somewhere and parents just need the table and the schedule, Simple Standings does that part free, $9.99 once per league with no ads. It has no website, registration or team chat. See Simple Standings vs Jersey Watch and Simple Standings vs TeamSnap.

Who should pick Jersey Watch

  • Volunteer boards that need a website and registration and want it set up for them.
  • Organizations that want one published price and their own domain.
  • Leagues happy to build their season with a round-robin generator.

Who should pick TeamSnap

  • Teams that need RSVPs, availability and chat.
  • Families who want a phone app with notifications.
  • Clubs that want registration, websites and standings from one vendor and are fine with a quote.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is Jersey Watch cheaper than TeamSnap?
They price different things. Jersey Watch publishes $19 for the first month, then $348 a year, for the organization. TeamSnap publishes per-team prices (Premium $10.83 a month billed annually) and quotes its club and league products, so an organization-level comparison needs a TeamSnap quote.
Do both show league standings?
Yes, with conditions. Jersey Watch shows standings for games built with its Schedule Generator. TeamSnap shows them through the Division module of Website Builder on TeamSnap for Business and Clubs & Leagues; its help centre says the module is not yet enabled on TeamSnap ONE.
Can I export my data from either?
Partly. Jersey Watch exports registrants to a spreadsheet and rosters to PDF, with schedule export marked “Coming soon”. TeamSnap exports a team schedule as a text file and rosters as CSV. Neither help centre documents a standings export.

Parents just need the table?

Standings and a schedule they can filter to their own team. Free.
