How it keeps score
Free pickleball score keeper for your phone. Big tap buttons, side-out doubles scoring with the score called for you (0-0-2 to start), singles, rally scoring, undo, and one tap to save the result to your league standings.
- Side-out scoring: only the serving team scores. Tap the team that won the rally and the keeper works out the point, the server number and the side-out.
- Doubles starts at 0-0-2: the first serving team gets one server, then every side-out gets two.
- The score is called the way you say it: server’s score, receiver’s score, server number.
- Games to 11, 15 or 21, win by 2. Play one game or a best of 3 or 5; the team that served first receives first in the next game.
- Rally scoring is an option: every rally scores and the rally winner serves next.
Questions
- Why does a pickleball game start at 0-0-2?
- In doubles, the team that serves first only gets one server on its first turn, so that server is called number 2. After the first side-out, each team gets two servers per turn. The keeper starts every game on server 2 for this reason.
- Does it do rally scoring?
- Yes. Switch Scoring to Rally in the settings and every rally scores a point, with the rally winner serving next. Pick 21 as the target for the usual rally-scoring game.
- Can I save a pickleball score to my league standings?
- Yes. When the game is over, tap Save to your league. Pick one of your leagues and the scheduled game, or two of its teams, and the standings update straight away — wins, losses and the score columns your league counts. No account yet? Sign up free and you come straight back to the finished game to save it.
- Do I need an account or an app?
- No. The score keeper runs in your phone’s browser and is free with no sign-up. The game is kept on your phone as you go, so a dropped signal or a closed tab does not lose it. An account is only needed to save the final score to a league.
