How it keeps score
Free hockey score keeper for your phone. Goals by period with big tap buttons, sudden-death overtime, shootouts, undo, and save the game to your league standings with overtime losses counted as OTL.
- Tap Goal for the team that scored, and End period at each buzzer.
- Tied after regulation goes to sudden-death overtime: the first goal wins it.
- Still tied goes to a shootout. The shootout winner gets one goal in the final, the way league tables report it.
- Your league’s rule is a setting: OT then a shootout, OT only, straight to a shootout, or no overtime (ties stand).
- A loss in overtime or the shootout is saved as an OTL in leagues that count them.
Questions
- How are overtime losses saved?
- The team that loses in overtime or a shootout gets an overtime loss instead of a loss, in leagues that count overtime losses. Hockey leagues made in Simple Standings do; for an older league, tick the OTL box when you save.
- Can I save a hockey score to my league standings?
- Yes. When the game is over, tap Save to your league. Pick one of your leagues and the scheduled game, or two of its teams, and the standings update straight away — wins, losses and the score columns your league counts. No account yet? Sign up free and you come straight back to the finished game to save it.
- Do I need an account or an app?
- No. The score keeper runs in your phone’s browser and is free with no sign-up. The game is kept on your phone as you go, so a dropped signal or a closed tab does not lose it. An account is only needed to save the final score to a league.
