✏️Enter and update results
Every cell in the standings and statistics tables holds a running total. There are two ways to update one: type the new total over it, or type the change and let Simple Standings do the addition. Both live in the same table.
Typing totals directly
Open a league from the Dashboard and pick the Standings tab. Click any cell and type. There is no separate edit mode and no per-cell save — the table is the form. When you are done, press Save at the top right.
Nothing is saved until you press Save. Leaving the page with unsaved edits loses them.
Add to totals
Recording a game as totals means doing the arithmetic yourself: a player on 14 hits who got 2 tonight needs 16 typed in. Switch the table from Totals to Add to totals and you type the 2 instead. Each cell shows what the new total will be, and nothing is applied until you save.
- Only numeric columns accept an addition. Text, date and time columns are typed normally.
- Computed columns never accept one — they are recalculated from the very totals you are changing.
- A blank box means "leave this alone", which is not the same as entering 0.
- Negative numbers work, so a correction is just an addition the other way.
Adding and removing rows
Use + Add team under the standings table, + Add row under the schedule, or + Add followed by your row label under the statistics table. Remove a row with the × at the end of it. A removed row takes its numbers with it, so if a team has folded mid-season and you still want its results in the record, leaving the row in place is the safer move.
Sorting the table
Click a column header in the editor to sort by that column; click it again to flip between ascending and descending. The arrow next to the header shows which way it is going. This is not just a convenience for you — the order you choose is the order visitors see on the share page.
Sorting is set by you, not by the viewer. Pick the column your league actually ranks on — points, win percentage, differential — before you share the link.
Nothing is derived
Entering a result in the schedule does not move the standings on its own, and adding a win does not fill in a games-played column unless a formula says it should. This is deliberate: the tables hold what you type. The two exceptions you can opt into are computed columns, which calculate from other columns in the same row, and score reporting, which is a premium feature that turns a reported score into standings movement.
Common questions
- Can I undo a mistake?
- If you have not saved, reload the page and your edits are discarded. After saving, retype the correct value — or switch to Add to totals and enter the difference as a negative number.
- Does entering a score in the schedule update the standings?
- Only if you have set up score reporting, which is a premium feature. Otherwise the schedule and the standings are independent tables and you update both.
- Can someone else update the table for me?
- Not today. The share link is read-only, and the editor is only reachable by the account that owns the league. If co-organizer access matters to you, say so on the contact page — feature requests from organizers are what drives what gets built.
